If you are a Fan of College Football,  you must be a fan of www.footballvideos.com , and this section of the site is for you!

I am WDR, the Owner and President of www.footballvideos.com .  I am the one who put all this together while developing business concepts in the late 1980’s.  About the time VCR’s had made their illustrious debut with the American Public.  All of a sudden, people could capture video images on a very available median such as VHS video tape, by using a newly affordable VCR or a Camcorder.  After capturing the video, it then became relatively easy to replay the footage, in the comfort of your home, when ever you want, and over and over again if you like.  At the time, this phenomenon materialized itself on shows like “America’s Funniest Home Videos”.  Before the 1980’s, most folks captured their home movies on 16mm or 8mm film.  These cameras were clunky, to say the least, not very good, always needed more light, and then, once the image was captured, replaying the film on a projector was a relatively expensive in depth endeavor, while the footage captured, didn’t really look all that good.  It looks bouncy, dark….yuck, who wants to spend their time watching that?  But, right about 1989, the VCR was in vogue and recording video, and then replaying video, entered a new and improved phase.  More people could do it; and do it easier and in a relatively inexpensive way.

I merged this newly available technology with my Favorite Sport – Football.  I had been out of college only a few years, at the time, but remembered how I would really like to see my old game films.  I know the games were shot on 16mm film.  We had to suffer through film sessions many times.  I was a Little All-American Player in the fall of 1980 and I would kill to see some of my games films.  I bet I could get my old films and transfer them onto VHS video so that I could watch them on my VCR again and again, reliving the memories for myself, and allowing my friends and family see how good I was at playing football, once upon a time.  Then I did the math.  How many guys are out there who played Division I, II, or III College Football?  How many would like to buy a copy of their game or games on VHS video.  My answer was; Millions!

It was these two elements that came together and now, 18 plus years later, we have www.footballvideos.com a selection of over 50,000 College Football Games available on VHS or DVD, and soon, for on-line viewing.  About 1,000 people visit my site every day and they shop through a selection of tens of thousands of games.  Since 1990, I have sold over 1 million dollars worth of Football Games on Video and DVD.  It has been a good formula.

The bread and butter of this site has been serving up games for players who played in the games.  But, since the early 2000’s, many college football fans have surfed in, introduced themselves and we have gotten along splendidly.   These folks did not necessarily play in the game, or even know someone who did.  Now, about 30% of my customers are just fans of College Football and very interested in watching these games again.  This section of the site is dedicated to you.

I want to be sure you are aware of all the amazing things available here at www.footballvideos.com so that you can maximize your browsing experience.

Thanx for spending your valuable time at my site.  I hope you enjoy it.

Sincerely,
